Rawlings USA announces Preseason All-Region Team Michael Basil – St. Xavier senior shortstop and Indiana University recruit has been named to the Rawlings USA Preseason All-Region Team. The annual award recognizes the top senior athletes at the high school level. Michael is the only Cincinnati player and one of only 3 players in the state of Ohio to be named to the All-Region Team. ST. LOUIS, MO (March 17, 2009) – Rawlings Sporting Goods announced today its annual Rawlings Preseason All-Region Team to recognize the top 400 high school baseball athletes in the U.S. Mike Thompson, Rawlings Vice President, said, These selected athletes are being recognized for their skill, athleticism, and dedication to their game which allows them to perform to the highest level of the game. With more than 240,000 high school athletes in the nation, these players represent the very best in their class.




The Cincy Flames Baseball Program is recognized as one of the premier youth baseball organizations in the country. Founded in 1994 by Jay Basil, it has consistently delivered on its Mission Statement:

To instill the integrity of the game of baseball into each player while helping them understand the greatness of the game. To allow each player to learn the many life lessons associated with the game of baseball. To guide and enhance the development needed to advance to the college or professional level. To provide the best learning environment, the best competition, and the most fun the game of baseball has to offer to its participants.
